Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Harrington Builders Limited respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website, how and why we use it, who may receive it, how long we keep it and the rights available to you.

1. Who we are

Harrington Builders Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 06544442. Our registered office is B19 SBC House, Restmor Way, Wallington, England, SM6 7AH.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Harrington Builders Limited is the controller of personal information collected through this website.

Privacy enquiries can be sent to enquiries@harringtonbuilders.co.uk or made by telephone on 020 8660 3563.

2. Information we may collect

When you contact us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, postcode, property address where provided, project type, planning or drawing stage, preferred timeframe, how you heard about us, project details and any drawings, photographs, specifications or other documents you choose to send.

When you use the website, limited technical and usage information may also be generated, such as pages viewed, interactions with pages and links, referral source, browser or device information, approximate location derived from technical information and website performance information.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information in an enquiry or attachment.

3. Contact forms and project enquiries

Our Start Your Project form helps us understand and respond to enquiries. Submitting the form does not automatically add you to a marketing mailing list.

Website form submissions are processed using Webflow. Submission information may be stored within Webflow's form-management service and may also be sent to Harrington Builders by email so that we can respond.

If your enquiry develops into a quotation, contract or project, information provided at enquiry stage may become part of the project and customer records needed to manage that work.

4. Drawings and project documents

If you send drawings, plans, structural information, specifications, photographs or other project documents, we use them to assess, discuss or manage the proposed work. Where appropriate, relevant information may later be shared with members of the project team or appointed professional advisers where necessary to progress the enquiry or project.

5. How we use your information

We may use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, manage contracts and building projects, operate and improve the website, maintain business records, meet legal or regulatory obligations and protect our legitimate business interests.

Depending on the circumstances, our lawful bases may include taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation and our legitimate interests in responding to genuine enquiries, administering the business and maintaining the website.

6. Website analytics and cookies

The website may use Google technologies including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to help us understand website performance and usage. Non-essential analytics will only be enabled where the applicable consent or other legal requirements are satisfied.

Analytics may provide statistical information such as how visitors reach the website, which pages they view and how they interact with the site. We do not intend to use website analytics to make decisions about whether an individual is accepted as a Harrington Builders client.

Cookies, browser storage, tags and similar technologies are also subject to the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. Where consent is required for a particular technology, it must not be activated until the required choice has been made. Where a permitted statistical-purpose exception is relied upon, the use must remain limited to the qualifying statistical purpose and visitors must be given clear information and a simple way to object.

7. QR codes and interaction tracking

Some Harrington Builders printed material and website pages use tracked QR codes or links. This helps us understand whether particular material is being used and which contact options visitors select.

For example, the Connect page can record the option selected, the source identifier contained in the link and the page URL associated with the interaction. This information is sent to a Google-hosted Apps Script endpoint used by Harrington Builders for tracking.

The Company Profile page can also record when a visitor arrives through the Company Profile QR route. Browser session storage is used there to avoid repeatedly recording the same scan during a single browser session.

These tracking functions are intended to measure the effectiveness of Harrington Builders communications and improve our website and enquiry routes rather than to create advertising profiles.

8. Company Profile and Heyzine

Our online Company Profile is displayed using an embedded service provided by Heyzine. When you view or interact with an embedded Heyzine flipbook, technical information may be exchanged with Heyzine in order to provide that content. Heyzine maintains its own privacy and cookie information covering its service.

9. Who we may share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

Where necessary, information may be processed by or shared with organisations that help us operate the website or business, including Webflow, Google, Heyzine, our email and IT service providers, accountants, insurers, legal advisers and other professional advisers, architects, structural engineers, designers or other project professionals where appropriate, and public authorities or regulators where disclosure is required by law.

10. International processing

Some of the technology providers we use operate internationally. Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, appropriate legal transfer arrangements are expected to be used as required by UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations, recognised transfer frameworks or approved contractual safeguards.

11. How long we keep information

We do not keep personal information for longer than we reasonably need it. The appropriate retention period depends on why the information was collected.

Enquiry information may be kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, follow up and maintain appropriate business records. If an enquiry becomes a project, relevant information may be retained for longer to meet contractual, accounting, insurance, warranty, legal or dispute-handling requirements. Analytics and QR interaction information is retained only for as long as reasonably required for the relevant reporting purpose, subject to the settings of the services involved.

12. Marketing

Submitting a project enquiry does not by itself mean that you have agreed to receive marketing communications. Where consent is required for direct marketing, we will obtain it separately or otherwise ensure that we have an appropriate lawful basis. You can ask us to stop marketing communications at any time.

13. Security

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

14. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure in certain circumstances, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, data portability where applicable, and withdrawal of consent where we rely on consent.

Some rights depend on the lawful basis and circumstances of the processing and do not apply in every situation. To exercise a right, contact enquiries@harringtonbuilders.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.

15. Complaints

If you have a concern about how Harrington Builders uses your personal information, please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to address it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection.

16. Automated decision-making

Harrington Builders does not use information collected through this website to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.

17. Third-party websites

Our website may contain links to external websites or services. Harrington Builders is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites. You should review the relevant privacy information when using those services.

18. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page and the date at the top will be updated.
